REAL WEDDINGS

Roberta and Stephen

Perfect in so Many Ways

Sparks flew on a fall night in 2008 for Roberta Vervloet and Stephen Bieda. Roberta and her friend Seana Tallon were heading out on the town and just happened to drop in at Scott Bradley’s house. Stephen was there. Scott made the introductions and Cupid took care of the rest. The sweethearts quickly discovered they have a whole lot in common: three kids each.

Love from the beginning

Love kindled, Brady Bunch-style. “Right from the beginning, the kids got along,” Roberta says. When they got engaged, all six youngsters were thrilled.

The wedding, which took place on May 22, 2010, was a family affair. Roberta and Stephen were married outside at historic Maplelawn Garden, on the grounds of the Keg Manor on Richmond Road. The weather was lovely, the flowers were blooming and the children were proud to have special roles in the festivities. While friends Seana and Scott were maid of honour and best man, Matteo, 9, and Evan, 10, walked Roberta down the aisle. Sydney, 6, and Chiara, 3, were flower girls and Angiolina, 7, and Payton, 12, were junior bridesmaids.

Other family members contributed to the special day, including Roberta’s new mother-in-law, Chris Potyok. She owns a wedding accessories company called Lorilocks and provided flower girl dresses and accessories. “They were gorgeous,” Roberta notes. The best man, a guitarist, brought along a violinist to make beautiful music and the maid of honour provided lily of the valley from her garden.

“Our friends and family were just as happy for us as we were,” the bride says. “The day was perfect.”
