After a devastating fire, local vendors create a perfect day for stranded couple.

On Saturday May 7th, 2012, a devastating fire destroyed the West Carleton Meeting Centre, leaving many wedding parties suddenly without a venue. The outpouring of support from local area wedding vendors proves that love does indeed conquer all.
Among the stranded brides and grooms, four couples went to see Stonefield’s Heritage Farm in Carleton Place, hoping to re-book their weddings. Couple Michelle and Trevor were booked at the West Carleton Meeting Centre the weekend after the fire and were devastated by the idea that they would not only have to re-book their wedding but pay for it twice. Stonefields Heritage Farm not only accommodated all four couples, but for Michelle and Trevor they scrambled to create what turned out to be a very special day.
Stonefields assured the couple that they would not have to worry about additional costs and payments on top of the stress of the last second arrangements and they replicated exactly what the couple had arranged at the burned out venue. Scrumptious Catering provided the meal Michelle and Trevor had dreamed of, and many other vendors and partners rose to the occasion to provide exemplary services, including Beau's Brewery, Peller Estates, Cottons and Blossoms, Mastermind Events and Rental Village.
“Michelle and Trevor got married this past Saturday (June 2nd) and they had the wedding of their dreams – so much more than they ever expected,” says Stephanie Brown, co-owner of Stonefields Heritage Farm. “We are so thankful to the amazing wedding community and to the generosity of strangers for helping this very special couple”.
Stonefields Heritage farm is owned and operated by Stephanie Brown and Steve Malenfant.
