Wedding Makeup Dos and Don’ts

 makeup

DO:

make your eyes look a bit more dramatic for the evening reception by smudging a bit of black eyeliner along your upper lash line and blending a touch more of the dark brown, plum or wine- coloured shadow you used earlier in the day. Apply a slightly darker shade of the same lip colour to your lips.

DON’T:

use iridescent shadows or foundation with light-reflecting pigments. You’ll look oily in photographs.

DO:

keep blotting papers in your handbag to absorb excess oil without leaving a powder residue.

DON’T:

drink coffee on your wedding day. You’ll find it will dehydrate you and can make your skin look dry.

DO:

drink plenty of water in the weeks leading up to your wedding — at least two litres a day. It will help to keep your skin clear.

DO:

get facials for the six months leading up to your wedding. Schedule your last facial at least one week before your big day. They will help your skin glow, and you’ll need less makeup. If you usually don’t get facials, don’t get one before the wedding.
