Colum and Jon had the kind of wedding couples dream of. “The day was breathtakingly beautiful—more than we could have imagined,” they recall. “It was filled with love, laughter and a sense of ease that made it feel completely, wonderfully us.”
Even the weather obliged. “The autumn leaves were at their peak, and we somehow got a glorious 23°C day in late October,” these newlyweds note, mentioning the ceremony was outdoors, surrounded by the fall colours.
Autumnal tones were carried through in the flowers, the couple’s attire and also what their guests wore, while the seasonal floral arrangements featured whimsical touches like gourds. Their venue—The Lodge at Strathmere—“was stunning,” they report, adding it “felt cozy, natural and just right for us.” Live music “got everyone smiling and dancing,” while the beautiful, candid photography captured the spirit of the day. Their gorgeous golden retriever lights up many of those images.
“Cusco is our fur baby and very much part of the family. We couldn’t imagine the day without him. He was our ring bearer and unofficial greeter, and he nailed it: running straight down the aisle to us without stopping to say hi to every guest (a minor miracle). … We were so lucky to have an amazing dog handler and friend who kept him calm and helped us get some fantastic photos.”
