Rich history, world-class dining and the stunning backdrop of our nation’s capital set a classic and timeless stage for celebrations at The Rideau Club. This styled shoot, planned and coordinated by HollyRalph.ca and captured by Alberto Ponce Photography, embraces a neutral colour palette of creams, greens and gold to highlight the venue’s natural beauty and refined décor, showcasing a seamless blend of classic elegance and modern legacy.
The day begins in the Sir Robert Borden Room, where the bride is surrounded by flowers and sunlight. Hair and makeup team AlFortier.com emphasizes the importance of using a headpiece that not only goes with your style and vision but also allows for versatility to accommodate several different looks throughout the day. The bride is wearing the Attika gown by Wona Concept, from Sinders Bridal House, along with a modern yet delicate string of pearls (and rings) from Loft Bijoux in Montreal.
The groom prepares for the ceremony in the Library, enjoying a smoked Scotch from the bar and dressing in his custom virgin wool dinner jacket created by one of the oldest Italian drapers, Vital Barberis Canonico (1663), provided by Blandin & Delloye. We later find him perfecting his bowtie in the reflection of the original, iconic Yousuf Karsh portrait of Sir Winston Churchill.
Florals from Capital Florist frame the bride and groom throughout the ceremony, led by Jim Emerson of Ottawa Wedding Officiants. These florals are later combined with beautiful accents from Vision Event Rentals to create a soft, intimate candlelit elegance in the Club Room at dinner. Along with a delicious custom menu from the Rideau Club’s world-class head chef, guests are treated to a phenomenal, fully-edible showstopper wedding cake from Nawal’s Cakes.
Finally, the couple moves to the Jean Pigott Lounge for their first dance and some cozy photos by the fireplace, where Alberto’s photography highlights the warmth, joy and elegance of the space. The Rideau Club provides a stunning backdrop for a wedding.
