Real Weddings

Deeply Personal and Memorable

What unique details made your day special?
Both of our families are incredibly creative and crafting has always been a way we spend time together. It only felt natural to bring that spirit into our wedding and add personal touches that made the celebration feel uniquely us.

Many elements were handcrafted, including our jai malas—which were made from scratch, and our event itineraries, which explained the traditions of an Indian wedding so that our guests could fully immerse themselves in the ceremony. We also created a slideshow featuring photos of our loved ones and designed our own wedding sign. Other DIY elements included table numbers featuring pictures of us (the bride and groom) at every age. Finally, instead of a traditional guest book, we made a picture frame with heart-shaped notes where guests could leave messages.

We also set up a live Zoom stream so that loved ones who couldn’t attend in person could celebrate with us in real time from wherever they were in the world.

The groom’s mobile baraat was truly one of the most unforgettable parts of the wedding celebration. Instead of a traditional street procession, the baraat came to life with music, dancing and celebration on the move. Friends and family joined in with endless energy, turning the journey itself into a party.

The reception was made even more special by the heartfelt performances from our loved ones, many of which were complete surprises for us. Each performance held a special meaning; some reflected our love story, while others brought back classic songs from our childhood family gatherings.

What was the style for your day and how was it achieved?
We envisioned a simple yet elegant celebration, one that reflected calm, warmth and understated beauty. We brought this to life through soft lighting, candlelit décor and neutral tones. The focus was on creating a space that felt intimate and inviting, allowing the love and joy of the day to shine through naturally.

What were your favourite parts of the day?
Our first look, that quiet and tender moment before the whirlwind began, felt as though time itself had paused just for us and gave us a chance to reflect on our journey together. Our first dance was another cherished memory. At the time, we were doing long-distance, and we had choreographed our dance while being across the country from each other. That dance was a testament to our perseverance and the time and effort we put in for one another. The speeches were equally unforgettable. Hearing the heartfelt words and stories shared by our family and friends reminded us of just how deeply we are loved and how fortunate we are to have such supportive family, friends and community.
