After attending many of weddings, Cara and Rosario knew they wanted their big day to be uniquely theirs. “We envisioned a modern yet romantic atmosphere that truly reflected our personalities,” Cara explains. That’s why, she adds, they decided to host the milestone celebration at their own home.
“We chose to get married at the first home we built together, a setting that told our story better than any venue could. Surrounded by our closest friends and family, a place where every corner holds a piece of our journey, it created a day that was special in ways we’ll never forget.”
To achieve the modern, romantic vibe they were after, Cara says they invited guests to wear black, while floral arrangements were done in white with soft greenery, “maintaining a clean and timeless aesthetic. The minimalist decor ensured the focus remained on our guests and the day’s joyful energy.” To that end, the couple also chose not to assign seating, “encouraging mingling and socialization, which was important to us.
“Every detail contributed to a style that was elevated, intimate and truly representative of us—simple, intentional and effortlessly beautiful.”
Even Mother Nature did her part: “Despite a rainy forecast, we were blessed with sunshine for our outdoor wedding, which was a delightful surprise.” That doesn’t mean people didn’t get wet, mind you.
This wedding had an afterparty. Cara describes it as “electric, filled with music, dancing and laughter … culminating in an unforgettable moment when the bride, groom and guests all dove into the pool. It was the perfect exclamation point to the best day of our lives.”
Beginning to end, she adds, all the different aspects of that very personal day—from the wedding prep to “the heartfelt speeches, the gelato, and the spontaneous late-night swim, felt like another piece of our story. Hosting the celebration in our home made it not just beautiful, but deeply meaningful. It was a day overflowing with love, one we will cherish forever.”
